I’ll bet a nickel that I’ve felt stupid more than 99% of the population. It wasn’t due to a low IQ. We were continuously being put in positions where we didn’t have the specific knowledge, skill sets, or experiences for the new responsibilities involved. Some of these positions were doozies, and metaphorically put us in a temporary, but unexpected “spin.” In each case, the situation required immediate action to recover from the spin and regain “straight and level flight.”
